Wireless and Networking Systems Lab

WINS group conducts research in the areas of wireless networking and mobile computing as well as Internet system research. Our vision is of network systems that provide robust and seamless services to the end users, and network infrastructure that provides the environment and incentives for providers to develop and provide these services. Our goals are to do creative and innovative research, and to solve problems that impact the real world. The general topics we are working on (not limited to) are:

  • Modeling and analysis of mobile, wireless, ad hoc and sensor networks
  • Wireless communications and networking with MIMO/OFDM
  • Integrated network infrastructure design and performance enhancement across network layers, applications and heterogeneous networks
  • Network and mobility management, QoS, signaling and control
  • Application and service support over wired and wireless networks
  • Grid computing, distributed computing, ubiquitous and pervasive computing
  • Network security and economics
